On July 15, Messer Company - Industrial Gas Specialist of the Federal Republic of Germany (Federal Republic of Germany) sponsored Vietnam with 30,000 Corona antigen test kits. These test kits were handed over to Vietnam's Ministry of Health with the help of World University Service (WUS), based in Wiesbaden, Deutsches Komitée e.V, Germany.
“We are very concerned about the loss of people especially for those infected with Covid-19 around the world and we are happy to be able to contribute further to the prevention of the pandemic in Vietnam with this support”, said Mr. Stefan Messer - Chairman of Messer Industrial Gas Group during the handover of the test kit at the Hessen state parliament in Wiesbaden with the Consulate General of Vietnam in Germany.
With the outbreak of the pandemic, the Hessen-based industrial gas company has ramped up production of medical oxygen gas at all locations in Europe, Asia and the Americas, while supplying Hospitals and military hospitals gas ventilation and technology supply respectively in many countries. “We have worked together with Vietnam for decades,” adds the owner and CEO of Messer, “the country deserves our solidarity.” Messer has been operating in Vietnam for nearly 25 years and has supported the country during its economic boom by supplying industrial gases – a key ingredient like water and electricity in many manufacturing processes or in food technology. Currently, Messer is operating 06 gas production plants in Vietnam. In which, 04 factories are located in Hai Duong, 02 factories are located in Dung Quat and 02 more factories are currently under construction. After production, gas will be filled into the bottles at our 03 gas filling stations; In the near future, we also plan to build a fourth gas filling station in Vietnam. In recent years, Messer also regularly cares and supports people living around the vicinity of its factories through supporting and financing activities to renovate, build and develop some local schools and hospitals. In November 2020, all Messer employees around the world participated in an internal solidarity campaign to show their concern and share in overcoming difficulties with Vietnam through donations and support with the amount of money. The gain is 50,000 euros. All of this money was used to rebuild the company's employees' houses in Vietnam that were affected by the damage from Typhoon Molave and to buy generators for the Community Health Center in Dung Quat. Along with that, we also financed repairs to a school that was also severely damaged by the storm through this donation.
