Family-run energy giant Messer has been recognised for the continued development of its corporate culture after it was revealed that the company is set to receive the Total E-Quality Award and the Special Citation for Diversity.

Having recently published its Diversity Report, Messer also outlined its objectives to establish mixed-gender management teams in its Sustainability Report 2021.

Taking note of these objectives, the jury commended the company’s efforts to take ‘innovative actions’ in the corporate culture field, including development of an ongoing management training programme designed to eliminate unconscious bias.

Due to be presented by Total E-Quality Deutschland e.V. in October, the event will mark the second time that Messer has received the awards.

According to the justification for the award, “In the corporate culture field of action, innovative programmes such as the establishment of the ‘Living Respect’ diversity brand or the introduction of an employee app are commendable.”

The opportunities for internal dialogues and knowledge sharing were also recognised, with the company having recently established its Women’s Network and a discussion forum with the Management Board of Messer.

With the award attesting to Messer’s “outstanding results in all fields of action”, the company was recognised within the ‘Work-life balance’ field of action for its activities in the area of work organisation, family security, and financial benefits.
